Using a game board, two decks of playing cards and poker chips, players try to form two rows of at least five consecutive chips in horizontal, vertical or diagonal lines on the board. Once two rows of chips are complete, so is a round of play. Players set a predetermined score before play begins, and the first player to reach the limit is the winner of the game. The score pad is designed to assist math skill development for children and young adults.
Players receive five cards and alternate placing chips on matching board card positions. The goal is to form two rows of five or more chips in horizontal, vertical or diagonal lines on the board. A makeup card is drawn after each play. A round of play is finished once two rows of chips are completed. Players set a total score before play begins, and the first player to reach the limit is the winner of the game.
An optional bonus scoring system adds an extra strategic element to master, and the score pad design assists math skill development for children and young adults. Each Scoring Strategy has a different point value based on the complexity of the strategy employed; 10 pts, 15 pts, 25 pts, 35 pts, or 50 pts. But watch out, bonus points can make this game even more challenging. The highest scorer of the game determines the overall winner - another feature lacking in similar games. The score pad is designed to integrate "Math Development Skills" with good family fun!
Harlan Strohl, Senior Account Executive of Western Publishing Company (a major game/puzzle manufacturer and Golden Books publisher), praised us on the high quality of the design work. "One of the best in the industry" according to Mr. Strohl. Buzz Siler, co-inventor of "Terrace" (a game featured on Start Trek: The Next Generation), provided us with great accolades on the packaging design. A quote from Buzz Siler "You have accomplished a great deal in your quest to improve on this game. The packaging is spectacular and should help convince many potential buyers to give POKO (TM) a try. The game is fun...as I knew it would be..."
